Metrobus route changes

The following routes have upcoming or recent schedule changes:

5A
Effective Sept. 28, 2008, three westbound and three eastbound buses will be added to the weekday schedule. Additional buses will leave D and 7th streets SW at 6:25 a.m., 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.; and Dulles Airport at 7:30 a.m., 3:45 and 5:45 p.m. On weekdays, buses that leave D and 7th streets SW at 6:10, 6:50 and 8:15 a.m., and at 1:30, 2:10, 2:55, 3:35, 4:10 and 4:50 p.m. will be changed to leave at 6, 6:55 and 8:10 a.m., and at 1:25, 2, 3, 3:30, 4 and 5 p.m. From Dulles Airport, buses that leave weekdays at 7:10 a.m., 2:40, 3:20, 4:05, 5:25 and 6:05 p.m. will be changed to leave at 7 a.m., 2:35, 3:10, 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, while bus departure times from Crystal City station will remain the same, bus times along the route will change.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, three buses will be added to the weekday schedule. Additional buses will leave Barcroft at 7:48 a.m. and McPherson Square at 5:28 and 5:40 p.m.

B24
Effective Sept. 28, 2008,Buses from New Carrollton before 5:30 p.m. will run as B25 and will serve Health Center Drive. After 5:30 p.m., buses from New Carrollton will run as B24 and will not serve Health Center Drive. Buses going to New Carrollton station will run as B24. Customers, traveling from Health Center Drive going to New Carrollton, may ride a B25 (Bowie Park & Ride) to the lot and remain on that bus as it returns to New Carrollton as a B24 bus. No additional fare will be required.

B25
Effective Sept. 28, 2008,Buses from New Carrollton before 5:30 p.m. will run as B25 and will serve Health Center Drive. After 5:30 p.m., buses from New Carrollton will run as B24 and will not serve Health Center Drive. Buses going to New Carrollton station will run as B24. Customers, traveling from Health Center Drive going to New Carrollton, may ride a B25 (Bowie Park & Ride) to the lot and remain on that bus as it returns to New Carrollton as a B24 bus. No additional fare will be required.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, the 6:22 a.m. bus from 1501 Crofton Parkway that passes Crofton Country Club at 6:30 a.m. will be changed to serve all stops 10 minutes later. The 7:35 a.m. bus from Crofton Country Club will leave at 7:43 a.m. The 7:03 a.m. bus from New Carrollton station will leave at 7:13 a.m.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, Sunday service will begin earlier. A bus will leave Cheverly station at 7:31 a.m. going to Takoma station.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, Sunday service will begin earlier. A bus will leave Silver Spring station at 7:33 a.m.

H12
Effective Sept. 28, 2008, Sunday service will begin earlier. Buses will leave Heather Hills at 7:50 a.m. and Naylor Road station at 8:22 a.m.

R4
Effective Sept. 28, 2008, weekend service will begin earlier. On Saturdays, buses will leave Highview at 6:33 and 7:33 a.m.; and Brookland station at 7 a.m. On Sundays, a bus will leave Highview at 8:30 a.m.

REX
Effective Sept. 28, 2008, four buses will be added to the weekday schedule. Additional buses will leave Fort Belvoir at 6:29 and 6:44 a.m., and King Street station at 3:42 and 4 p.m.

Effective Sept. 28, 2008, Sunday service will begin earlier. A bus will leave Rhode Island Ave station at 8:15 a.m. going to New Carrollton station.

V15
Effective Sept. 28, 2008, Saturday service will begin earlier. The first bus from Deanwood will leave at 7:10 a.m. going to Penn Mar. The first bus from Penn Mar will leave at 7:13 a.m. going to Deanwood station.
