About advisories

Check the status of Metro trains, buses, elevators and escalators throughout the system using the:

• Metrorail service disruption report that describes current Metrorail operating status, including any delays of 10 minutes or more. These same updates are available:
• in the news "crawler" that appears at the top of all site pages when disruptions are in effect.
• as eAlerts, a custom e-mail service notifying you of disruptions affecting the lines and times of day you wish to monitor.
• Metrobus advisories that detail route changes, long-term detours and public hearings on bus service. Also check the Metro homepage for news of short-term detours and delays.
• Elevator/escalator report that provides detailed information on Metrorail elevator and escalator status. This information is also available:
• by ELLEN, a custom elevator status e-mail notification service
• by selecting a station of interest on the Metrorail system map
• in a list of elevators that are out of service
• via a recorded message elevator status message at 202/962-1212.
